Cross country skiing is quite different from downhill skiing and even if you are an avid downhill skier you will still need to master the art of cross country skiing. The great thing about cross country skiing is that you can take part in addition to your other Lapland activities and you don’t need to book. The ski trails in Yllas Lapland are open all winter and all you have to do is get out there and ski. You can hire the equipment really easily for a small price and the children are also well catered for, meaning you can all get involved as part of a family. Children actually take to c skiing very easily and are often off and skiing before the adults have had the chance to put on the boots. If you haven’t crossed country skied before there are many places to practice and the trails are open until quite late at night meaning you can take advantage of the magical lit tracks and cross country ski under the stars.Cross country skies are fitted to a special boot, much the same as downhill skiing

A bus would bring us back. Very few people attempted this run as no chair lift was present to take you to the top. But I remembered looking at it all day and it was almost calling me to do it. It was my Everest. While I expected it to be
